[BUG] A geometric approach to gradients

I like this approach to gradients and line integrals....

Let me throw in a few very old pix from 1996! (these days
it is easy to do this much nicer) especially slides 8 and
9 from one of my first talks on "zooming"

http://math.asu.edu/~kawski/conferences/96reno.ppt

Secondly, the Vector Field Analyzer has a provision to draw
vector fields suggesting "fields of (contour diagrams of)
tangent planes". Even most "adult" audiences whom I talked
to were usually quite perplexed -- I don't think that has
to be the case with students. I'd be most interested in
hearing if anyone pulls of a good class using this option
of drawing "stack-fields" (co-variant) together with coun-
ting the number of crossings of a curve (when working on
line integrals).
